While there is a not specific law concerning most inattentive driving habits there are laws concerning using turn signals and tailgating or following too closely. The effects of inattentive driving can be severe resulting anything from a minor misdemeanor citation to an accident causing a fatality. While there is no end in sight for ways to stop inattentive driving, it is the leading killer of people in our country. Sadly the only thing needed to prevent all of the lives lost is a general awareness from the public.
